GAP filling

  • Before application can has preferably to be stored for at least 12 hours in room temperature.
  • Before application shake the can vigorously before use (15 - 20 times).
  • The gap surfaces must be clean and free from dust. They can be moist, but not iced.
  • Sensitive surfaces or floors should be protected of PU stains by masking with adhesive tapes or canvas cover. Spots of fresh foam can be cleaned with acetone or PU cleaner like MAKROFLEX CLEANER. Cured foam can be removed only mechanically.

  • During the application, the can must be held in upside down position. In case the gap or joint is bigger than 5 cm, it is recommendable to work in several stages. Apply one foam layer, spray a small quantity of water with an atomizer on the surface, wait for 8-10 minutes and continue work with the next layer.
  • After application, the foam expands up to its double volume, so leave ½ of space free for the expansion.

  • Despite significantly higher UV resistance, the cured PU foam is recommended to be protected from UV radiation to preserve the full insulation efficiency. Protection may be in form of painting or applying a top layer of sealant, plaster, mortar, or other type of covering.
